Since early this year, Llavaneres hosts a pilot plant which removes nitrates from groundwater through innovative technology. It is well known that the presence of nitrate in groundwater is one of the most important problems in Catalonia. Many towns with this problem have opted to seek alternative water sources with a high cost of treating contaminated groundwater. The project takes place in Llavaneres (InSiTrate project), where microbiological reactions that naturally occur in the aquifer are being favoured.

If you want to learn how it works, we expect you on Saturday 12 December, in the morning, at Jardins Pasi where the project technicians will explain the technology.

By Fundació CTM Centre Tecnològic, Amphos 21 and Catalana de Perforacions.

Tour times: 11:00, 11:45 and 12:30.
